The painting is a very unique style, in the romantic, pre-Raphasellite look and includes liberal use of gold leaf in the elaborate designs on the canvas. Born in Junin, Peru, artist Diana Mendoza is known for blending European and Peruvian cultures into a unique style of painting. Her oil on canvas paintings also utilize gold and silver leafing. Diana enjoyed art from a young age and sketched throughout her early years. Although she initially chose engineering, Diana finished in the school of fine arts. The painting site area measures 23.5” x 35.5” and is housed in a large gold and bole frame with linen liner measuring 37.5” x 49.5”. It is in very good condition with no apparent loss or damage. There is a stamp on the back of the canvas indicating the origin of the painting in Peru.
