A large oil on canvas painting by Belgian artist, Alex de Andresis (1880-1929) “The Troubadour” depicting a full-length seated portrait or trine of a troubadour, a man singing and playing the lute. He is wearing a green doublet and ruff, mouth wide open in song. The painting is signed, lower right.

The painting measures 38 3/4” x 31” and overall with the gilt composition frame ,measures 50 1/2” x 43 3/4”. The painting is larger than most of the artist’ works. The painting is in very good overall condition, with som slight abrasions around the edges of the frame and possible in-painting upper left quadrant. The frame is in good condition but has had restoration to the top central ornament. Ready to hang.
