A pair of English Oil on Canvas paintings by artist George Augustus Holmes (1822-1911), one depicting a man gathering wood and the other a hunter with mallards. Both are in beautiful detail with bodies of water reflecting the surrounding landscape and large trees. These are quite unusual to have a pair of vertical landscapes in their original matching gilt frames, and both in excellent condition. One depicts a bright blue sky and the other a reddish sky from a sunrise or sunset.

The painting images measure approximately 24 1/2” x 14” and overall with the frame approximately 30 1/4” x 19 3/4”.
