Ferdinand Roybet, Oil on Panel Painting, Gentleman in an Interior with Bartmann Jug

An oil on panel painting by French artist, Ferdinand Roybet (1880-1920) depicting a gentleman in a fancy brocade coat, seated before a green curtain at a table with a red tablecloth. He is holding a walking stick and on the table is a Bartmann Jug or Bartmannkrug. he is holding what appears to be a bell in the form of a Queen with crown. His long white gloves rest on the table. Perhaps he is ringing the bill for his servant to bring him more wine or beer for his jug.

The painting is presented in an extremely ornate Louis XV style frame. The painting measures 22” x 17 3/4” and overall with frame measures 36” x 32”. There has been some professional restoration to the frame in a small area of the painting. Ready to hang.
