Frank Moss Bennett, Oil on Canvas Painting, Cavalier or Swashbuckler

$7,500.00

A large oil on canvas painting by English artist, Frank Moss Bennett (1874-1953) depicting a cavalier or swashbuckler in a green coat with slashed sleeves, lace collar, and large hat with feather. The man looks directly at the viewer with a confident pose holding a walking stick and with his hand on his hip adjacent to his sword. The painting is signed and dated 1909 in the lower left corner. Most of Bennett’s paintings are much smaller than this, and later with the bulk of his work in the 1920’s and after. This is one of the earliest signed Frank Moss Bennett paintings.

The painting measures 36” x 28” and overall with the large gilt frame measures 48” x 40”. The painting is in very good condition and has been lined. The frame has had some minor repairs but is overall good condition and ready to hang. This item includes FREE Shipping in the United States. All other areas would incur additional shipping charges.
