Antique Watercolor by Antonio Canella (1849-1922) of Cavalier with Sword
An intriguing and detailed small antique watercolor painting by Italian artist Antonio Canella (1849-1922), signed upper left depicting a cavalier wearing a gorget and sash and holding a rapier sword. The painting is very colorful and well-painted. It is framed in a contemporary black frame with gold fillet and under museum UV light resistant glass. The image measures 12 7/16” x 7 1/2” and is matted with a black mat. The outer frame measures 22 3/4” x 17 7/8”, so far a small painting, this is sure to make a substantial statement to viewers.
This painting is in excellent condition as is the contemporary frame and glass. It was displayed using a Situ Lighting plug-in Micro Series picture light, and that is what would be recommended for display purposes (not included but available from SituLighting.com).
