A European School, 19th Century oil on canvas profile view of a soldier with helmet and gorget. This painting is unsigned, but quite impressive in the depiction of the soldier's helmet and gorget. The steel shines brilliantly. He stands, looking to his right (our left), with his hands folded over the hilt of his sword, wearing a golden doublet before a dark green background.

The painting measures 12" x 8" and overall with the antique gilt frame measures 18 3/4" x 14 3/4". The painting has been relined and professionally cleaned and restored. It is ready to hang.
