Frederick Von Luerzer (German 19th/20th Centuries) Oil Painting of Bagpiper and Dogs after Sir Edwin Henry Landseer dated 1902
Oil painting on canvas of a bagpiper playing to a group of dogs that seem none too happy about the music. This painting, dated 1902 is after an original, titled "Highland Music" by Sir Edwin Henry Landseer in The Tate Gallery, London, and was painted by Frederick Von Luerzer (1858-1917), a German artist. Dimensions approximately: Site 28" x 42", outer dimension of frame 37" x 50.5".
Condition: Painting has a heavy varnish layer and even craquelure throughout, making it appear very dark overall. Frame has small losses from age and wear but in overall good condition.
I am currently displaying the painting in my home with a Cocoweb 30” picture light, which makes the painting look fantastic.
