A very unusual German School 19th Century Oil on Canvas of a Renaissance Man with an Owl. The painting is unsigned, but label on verso frame is inscribed "Scheffer." Oil on canvas, 30 1/2" x 27 1/2" , framed. Dimensions with frame 33 1/4" x 29 1/4". Condition: Surface grime, large craquelure. Frame has minor losses and discoloration, but in overall good condition and not in need of repair.
