An oil on panel painting by French artist, Gustave Barrier depicting a musketeer in an interior, wearing a doublet with bows, a ruff and high boots. He holds a musket over his left shoulder and right hand akimbo. On the table adjacent is a table with a green tablecloth and a gilt silver pokal or covered cup. Behind him the drapery is pulled aside, allowing light in from the window behind him. There is a label on the back from Merline’s San Francisco.

The painting measures approximately 9” x 7 1/4” and overall with the gilt frame measures 16” x 14”. The painting and frame are in good condition with a small chip on the lower right section of the frame.
