Oil on canvas painting by Belgian artist Alex de Andreis (1870-1939) depicting a cavalier in red with a wide-brimmed hat holding a Italian 7-ring rapier sword, standing before a leaded glass window. This is a beautiful rendition of this gentleman with large mustache, likely painted in the 1920’s depicting a cavalier of the 17th Century housed in a large antique gilt frame. The back of the frame has a sticker from Wanderly Galleries, Pittsburgh, PA.

The painting site area measures 25 1/4” x 31 3/4” and the overall size including the gilt frame measures approximately 33 1/2” x 39 3/4”. The painting is in very good condition, clean and bright. .The antique gilt frame is also in very good condition with just minor abrasions and wear around the outer edge and corners.
