Probably depicting Italian artist, Salvator Rosa (Italian Poet, Painter 1615-1673), this is a  large, wonderfully detailed and beautiful antique bronze statue of a Renaissance artist, wearing a wide-brimmed hat with feather and cloak, in contemplation, looking through his sketchbook while his artist palette sits at his feet. The bronze is mounted on a wooden black painted and footed base.

Dimensions of the overall sculpture is 20 1/2" high x 16 1/4" wide.  Height of the bronze itself not counting the base is 18 1/2" high.

There is wear to the paint on the wooden base, likely where a nameplate had been, but the bronze itself is in excellent condition with no losses or signs of repair.
