Antique French Gothic Revival Carved Oak Console Cabinet with Original Key
A gorgeous antique French gothic revival carved oak console cabinet featuring tracery floral elements within arches on opposing doors over a single large drawer rising above an open gallery base. The cabinet has hand-forged iron strap hinges and lock with the original antique key. The left door locks into place with an interior tilt switch and the right door has the lock, with working mechanism and key. The upper left and right corners of the cabinet have caryatid figures. There is a light that has been retro-fitted inside the cabinet. Inside are two adjustable shelves.
Dimensions are approximately 60.5” Tall x 41” Wide X 17.25” Deep.
Finish appears to be original to the cabinet and has a rich reddish tone. Condition: There are minor nicks, scratches, and scuffs as would be expected with age and use, but no broken or missing elements. There is an age-related crack on the inside of the cabinet on the bottom, not visible when doors are closed.
