An antique 1L German faience beer stein from the Erfurt factory circa 1760, depicting a philosopher in robe and feather cap among palm trees and floral elements. The stein features great original pewter mounts, lid, foot ring, and handle strap. The pewter touch marks are on the inside of the lid.

The stein is in overall very good condition for its age. There is a slight tear to the pewter lid at the attachment of the tang. There is also a small blemish on the right side of the stein, which is pushed in and can be seen in the photo.
