Antique German Walnut Cased Bracket Clock by Kienzle - Westminster Chimes
Antique German Walnut Cased Bracket Clock by Kienzle - Westminster Chimes
A true antique German walnut cased bracket clock made by the Kienzle Clock Company #14749 circa 1900. The walnut case has a beautiful dark patina and the brass dial has a silvered chapter ring with Arabic numerals. This is the perfect clock to adorn a fireplace mantle or any shelf or table in your home. The clock plays the famous Westminster chimes, chiming each section of the tune on the quarter hour. It also has a silencing rod that can be pulled out from the side of the case to eliminate the chiming at night, but the clock will still strike on the hour even with the chime on silent.
This clock has been serviced a number of times over the years, and in fact an old tag remains on the back from a previous service. The clock was again serviced in 2015, repaired, cleaned and lubricated professionally in Lake Geneva, IL. It is in working condition, ticks, chimes, and strikes. The timing may need to be adjusted with the pendulum height for slow or fast as all clock need to be adjusted.
Dimensions of this clock are 15 1/4” tall x 11 5/8” wide x 8 1/4” in depth.
Working condition of clocks cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of shipping condition and the fragile components of clock mechanisms, but the utmost care will be taken in packing the clock, removing the pendulum to prevent damage and padding the inside of the mechanism for shipment. All clocks do need periodic adjustment and cleaning by a professional clockmaker.
