Beautiful impressionistic antique oil on canvas painting of the Grand Canal in Venice by Massachusetts artist, William T. Robinson (1852-1934). The painting has a beautiful tone in the sky as if just during sunset. The Doge’s Palace is in the back center of the painting with ships in the foreground. This is a very dramatic painting, and beautiful with its colors and simplicity, and framed in its original antique gilt gesso frame. The painting is signed in the lower right “W.T. Robinson.”

The painting has been professionally cleaned and restored and the frame has had minor repair to the gesso. Site area measures 8 3/8” x 18 3/4” and framed dimensions are 14 1/2” x 24 1/2”.
