A wonderful and large Gothic style carved wooden statue of St. Michael with spread angel wings and widespread arms, likely early 20th Century together with an associated, and likely custom wooden pedestal made to display this statue.

St. Michael stands 51 1/2" tall and overall height on pedestal is 95 3/8". Statue has some damage including cracks, chips and losses.  St. Michael is usually presented with a sword in hand and either a scabbard or the scales of justice in his other hand.  His right had is outstretched above his head, but is empty, and may have originally held a sword.  The left hand has the wooden remnant of something, which does not appear to be a scabbard.  The eyes appear to be glass.  

This figure makes a grand presentation and would look wonderful in a church, religious setting or any Gothic style display.  The losses are not detracting as it is such a huge and impressive piece. The pedestal appears to be a newer piece, made specifically to hold the statue.
