An oil on canvas painting by Italian artist, Edwardo Scognamiglio entitled “Combat” on the nameplate and depicting a potential sword fight in an outdoor stone courtyard. On the right stands a man with a proud stance holding out his sword ready for combat, a woman stands beside him with a pleading look on her face. On the left are two men holding back another, possibly a young boy, also holding a sword and ready for combat, attempting to persuade him from engaging the man on the right. Two other men sit at the table, also pleading to avoid this fight. The paint surface has a nice thick impasto surface which can be seen in a number of the detail photos.

The painting is housed in an elaborate 7” wide frame with deep cove molding. The nameplate on the painting has the artist name incorrect, as likely whomever made this could not read the actual signature, and says “Guy Miglio”, but the artist is Edwardo Scognamiglio. The frame has had some damage and repairs made, but looks great and presents very well. The painting measures approximately 20” x 27” and with the overall frame measures 34” x 41”. The painting likely needs to be cleaned, but looks good in its current state using a picture light.
