This heavily carved Spanish style dining room set includes an extension dining table, six side chairs and two arm chairs. The wood appears to be maple oder beach, but species is not clearly identified. There is a tag on the furniture with an address in Nice, France and another address in Valencia, Spain. These were retailed in France but may have been manufactured in France or Spain. These are likely mid-20th Century. There is a tall mirrored cabinet with a glass shelf for display or as a liquor cabinet and a monumental sideboard with 4 doors and 4 drawers. The mirrored cabinet features deeply carved front doors depicting a king and queen and has a light in the top. The sideboard has 4 heavily carved doors in high relief depicting knights in armor and two coats of arms. Each piece of furniture has lion's paw feet. The chairs feature a castle tower motif at the top center crest rail. The leather backs of each chair have a row of the same castle tower alternating with a row of rampant lions.

Condition: This is an impressive suite of furniture and looks fantastic on display but can be used regularly. Please note, there are a number of condition issues including minor losses to carving, scratches and nicks throughout. There is some separation on the corner of the door panels of the sideboard and mirrored cabinet. The center two doors of the sideboard have warping and will not fully close or latch. There are no shelves for the sideboard but there are clips for glass shelves. The doors of the mirrored cabinet close but will not latch. The mirror on the inside of the cabinet has several small cracks on the bottom and on one side. The six side chairs have had their seats re-upholstered in black leather, but the backs are original. There are minor scratches on the table top. Due to the number of condition issues, please call or request additional photos if there are any doubts prior to purchase. Once purchased, this set cannot be returned due to shipping cost. I am happy to discuss the pieces and condition in detail and to even show via video the existing issues.
