Historismus Blown Glass Hand-Enameled German Reichsadler Beaker
Historismus Blown Glass Hand-Enameled German Reichsadler Beaker
A beautiful Historismus free-blown glass hand-enameled Reichsadler (Imperial Eagle) beaker, with Anno 1516 on the back, likely made by the glass house of Anton Ambrose Egermann. This beaker is in the style of the 16th Century, but made in the late 19th Century of that former period style. The central decoration is of the two-headed German imperial eagle with shields or Wappen of each individual duchy of the empire. The glass is a dark forest green color and measures approximately 8” tall, which is the larger version. The beaker is mint condition with no damage. The pontil break can clearly be seen on the bottom and is polished at the glass house.
