This painting is by French artist is Alfred Louis Vigny Jacomin (1842-1913) and is an oil on mahogany panel depicting an inebriated cavalier type figure, showing his wife, looking disgustedly at him, while his son standing nearby at the hearth seems to have the look of, ‘yes, that’s my father’.

The painting is in very good condition overall, with just slight frame rubbing at the top. The gilt frame is also in very good condition, and quite large and heavy.
